Summary

The Senior Specialist, IT Security Solutions provides solution support for in-scope platforms and technologies as well and provides input into business and technical processes, architectural and technical expertise, assessing, designing, delivering in-scope IT security solutions. The Senior Support Specialist, IT Solutions will also function as an SME and work with other teams, to advise and support integrations to in-scope systems, and work with vendor support where required to administer, maintain or resolve issues.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Support and communicate with stakeholders including IT/Business Partners as well as external/internal communities for opportunities and or alignment of solution strategy.

  • Perform administrative and maintenance support for in-scope solutions and platforms such as Microsoft ADFS, Thales SafeNet, Thales CipherTrust Transparent Encryption and Key Management, Certificate LifeCycle Management (AppviewX)

  • Act as a subject matter expert when required for supported technologies, providing solution architecture, technical documentation as well as provide guidance when required.

  • Provide guidance and support for IT Processes (e.g. Operating Model, Governance, System Development Life Cycle)

  • Perform technical execution of solutions including requirements gathering, blueprinting, development and deployment

 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Good problem solving & analytical skills, with an ability to troubleshoot, improvise and innovate.
  • Strong Collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work either independently or in a group.
  • A development background or some scripting and coding experience would be an asset. (Python, Powershell, or Java experience)
  • Some experience supporting IT Infrastructure including Networks, Servers, End point Clients in Windows, Linux and Unix based environments.
  • Previous knowledge and experience with ITIL and Service Delivery processes such as Change Management, Service Request Management, Incident and Problem Management, etc. would be an asset.
  • Knowledge & experience in relevant technologies and concepts (e.g. Experience supporting Encryption, TLS, PKI, Certificate Management, Key Management, Secrets Management, Privileged Access Management, Networking, DNS, Federated Authencation, Active Directory and Directory Services, etc.)
  • Previous knowledge or experience with encryption platforms (ie. Thales CipherTrust Encryption, Cloud Based Encryption) would be an asset
    Experience with Identity and Access Management concepts (Provisioning, Deprovisioning, Access Reconciliation)
  • Previous experience with authentication concepts and technologies such as OAuth, SAML, OIDC, MFA, Passkey.  Direct experience with Identity Providers (IdP’s) such as Thales SafeNet, ADFS, Okta, Ping, Entra ID (Formerly Azure Active Directory) would be an asset.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

  • 4 to 8 years in a similar role or industry.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
