Summary


The Sr. Solutions Engineer - Infrastructure with expertise in Nutanix, VMware, and Windows designs, builds and maintains hybrid cloud and on-premises enterprise environments. Will lead infrastructure modernization, manage virtualization platforms, ensure high availability, and align IT systems with business goals

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Architecture & Design: Design scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise architectures using Nutanix, VMware, and Windows Server ecosystems.

  • Virtualization & Hypervisor Management: Manage and optimize Nutanix AHV environments and VMware vSphere/ESXi, including cluster expansion and resource allocation.

  • Hybrid Cloud Integration: Bridge on-premises data centers with cloud environments using Nutanix Cloud Clusters, HyperV or VMware Cloud solutions.

  • Windows Administration: Oversee Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, Group Policy, and core Microsoft enterprise services.

  • Migration & Upgrades: Lead complex data center migrations, hypervisor conversions, and operating system upgrades with minimal downtime.

  • Performance & Troubleshooting: Monitor system health, analyze performance bottlenecks, and resolve high-level infrastructure incidents.

  • Security & Compliance: Implement security baselines, disaster recovery strategies, backups, and patching schedules.

  • Project Management: Managing and overseeing project progress along with designing and implementing solutions. 

  • Team Leader: Technical manager leading project teams.

  • Travel: 30%

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Experience: 10+ years in Solution integration and architecting IT infrastructure, implementation, and administration.

  • Nutanix: Deep knowledge of Nutanix AOS, Prism Central, Files, and hypervisors (AHV or ESXi on Nutanix).

  • VMware: Strong proficiency in VMware vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, and NSX network virtualization.

  • Windows Server: Advanced expertise in Windows Server (2016 to 2025), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and IIS.

  • Project and Vendor management skills would be essential

  • Storage & Networking: Understanding of SAN/NAS storage, software-defined storage, backup solutions; preferably on Dell Power Store, Power Flex solutions and Data Domains. 

  • Automation: Experience with PowerShell, PowerCLI, or Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) to automate routine tasks.

Preferred Certifications

  • Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) or Nutanix Certified Master (NCM)

  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Assoicate or Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft HyperV Certifications
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or Advanced Professional (VCAP)

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Salary

The stated range includes Base Salary and target Short-Term Incentive (STI) compensation only. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range.

The range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including but not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate.

Salary + Short-Term Incentive = 109,000 - 173,000 (CAD)

  • Bachelor's Degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
