Are you a highly motivated and experienced finance professional with a passion for Finance ERP System Support, Business Control, Audit Preparation Support, and Tax Specialization? Celestica, a leading provider of manufacturing and design services solutions for industrial, healthtech, avionics, and defense customers worldwide, is seeking a talented professional to join our dynamic finance team at our industrial EMS site in Valencia, Spain.

In this mid-level role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of our finance ERP systems, particularly SAP FI and CO, by supporting new capabilities and releases, and maintaining critical GL functions. You will also play a key role in strengthening our business control environment, overseeing and auditing internal processes from a finance perspective, and ensuring adherence to corporate procedures and accounting/tax regulations, including SOX. Your responsibilities will extend to providing crucial audit preparation support, particularly for statutory accounts and engagements with major auditing firms in Spain. Furthermore, you will leverage your expertise as a Tax Specialist, managing various Spanish and EU tax matters, including Transfer pricing, VAT, Impuesto de Sociedades, and IRPF. Your contributions will be vital in preparing financial data for tax purposes, ensuring timely installment payments, and providing support during government income tax audits.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Conducts analysis of financial data for tax purposes and to perform the tax accounting function. 
  • Prepares journal entries, conducts ledger analysis, and reconciliation.
  • Prepares schedules used to prepare corporate tax returns.
  • Ensures tax installment payments.
  • Reconciles ERP system reports to financial statements.
  • Provides support for government income tax audits.
  • Provides transfer-pricing assistance.
  • Assists in preparing tax schedules and tax corporate input records.
  • Liaises with Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Engineering, and Tax Management.
  • Supports the testing of new capabilities/releases within SAP FI and CO modules, leveraging deep knowledge of finance transactions and GL maintenance.
  • Manages FX accounting for multiple currencies within SAP ERP.
  • Oversees and audits internal finance processes, reviews procedures, and analyzes corporate procedures with a strong business control focus.
  • Applies knowledge of accounting and tax regulations, including SOX compliance.
  • Prepares statutory accounts and audit reports, collaborating with major auditing firms in Spain.
  • Demonstrates expertise in Spanish and EU tax regulations, including VAT, Impuesto de Sociedades, IRPF, and other relevant taxes.
  • Prepares general accounting journal entries and maintains the General Ledger chart of accounts.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Candidates should possess excellent knowledge of manufacturing site finance, encompassing strategic policies and objectives. A strong understanding of the global business environment and the ability to analyze customer business, organizational structures, products, and processes are also essential.
  • Expert knowledge of office systems and analytical tools.
  • Ability to lead complex negotiations effectively.
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP FI and CO modules, with proven experience in finance transactions and GL maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of FX accounting for multiple currencies within an SAP ERP environment.
  • Proven capabilities in business control, including internal process oversight and auditing from a finance perspective, procedure review, and analysis of corporate procedures.
  • Familiarity with accounting and tax regulations, including SOX.
  • Experience in preparing statutory accounts and collaborating with auditing firms, particularly in Spain.
  • Comprehensive tax expertise covering VAT, Impuesto de Sociedades, IRPF, and other Spanish and EU tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in general accounting, including journal entry preparation and General Ledger chart of accounts maintenance.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
  • Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc)
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required

Typical Experience

  • Three to six years of relevant experience

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA or Master in tax or Finance is a plus, Consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An accounting designation, such as a degree in Accounting or Economics with a specialization in auditing, or other relevant professional certifications, may be required. 
  • Candidates should possess strong communication skills, demonstrated by a C1 or C2 English proficiency level. Prior international experience, especially within a multinational corporate environment, is a distinct plus
