Area/Department: Design and Engineering Services (D&ES)

The Design and Engineering Services department in Celestica Valencia is specialized in the development of new products and electronic systems for both its customers (mostly international) and the production line within the factory.

The D&ES team is composed by more than 50 specialist engineers: electronics, software, mechanics… that, in the end, build a multiskilled team able to carry on (almost) any kind of development projects. 

The areas in which these projects are developed are mainly related with healthcare and in-vitro diagnosis, industrial, aerospace and test development.

Experience/Background:

6-8 Years as hardware electronic designer

Bachelor’s degree in a related electrical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.E Telecomm engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering

Job Description

As an essential part of a development team, the technical lead will take responsibility with minimum supervision for the hardware conception, design and build of new products and/or systems. Tasks to be performed/supervised will be related to electronic circuits design and analysis: electrical diagrams, component selection, PCB Layout, simulations, measurement and trials, evaluation of different design options, reference designs, and strategies etc.

As a reference to other team colleagues, the technical lead is expected to guide and foster growth for other developers, ensuring completion of tasks in terms of scope, quality and schedule and in accordance both with external and internal standards.

She/He will be a key part in the interaction with customer’s technical teams, leading meetings with customer and partners when necessary, presenting progress, contributing with the team’s point of view and proposing solutions and alternatives aimed to overcome the different challenges that a development project present.

 

Needed skills

  • Proven experience (proficiency) on electronic circuit design. Component selection criteria and knowledge on their critical parameters. Datasheet evaluation. Ability to read and compose complex electrical diagrams both digital and analog.
  • Proficiency in PCB layout design from pads definition to 10+Multilayer design including stackup definition, impedance control, high speed routing (DDR4, USB3.0, PCIe…), differential pairs and high-end microprocessor.
  • Experience in RF and matching network design and layout for ISM, Bluetooth, NFC.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC mitigation
  • Proven experience with Cadence Allegro Design Entry & PCB Designer as development IDE. Experience with Centralized DDBB and version control is a nice-to-have. Experience with any other development tool would be considered.
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral.
  • Experience in leading/coordinating small development teams in the electronics development arena is an asset.
  • Used to direct interaction with customer’s technical teams either internal or external.
  • Experience on electronic circuits analysis and verification and acceptance test procedures.
  • Experience in the collaboration with electronic part manufacturers
